I can’t think of a better way this trilogy could have ended.

They stuck the landing on the “Family is Everything” messaging that has carried the franchise by zeroing in Rocket’s tormented origin story, then widening the lens from there with Gamora’s reluctance to (re)join the team, her sister hate with Nebula, and Star-Lord’s grandfather search. They also left the door open for more GotG stories and wrapped with one of the best fight scenes in MCU history.

Long live the OG Guardians! It really is good to have friends.
