Congrats to the Washington Nationals! | Introducing The Extras
I have four baseball hats, representing:
The Yankees, because I lived in New York City for eight years, before moving here to Los Angeles
The Dodgers, because I’ve lived here in L.A. for four years
The Cardinals, because my wife is from St. Louis and she thinks it’s cute
But today it’s all about my fourth, and most important, hat: The Washington Nationals cap. I’m from Maryland and grew up in downtown Silver Spring, which is a 10-minute drive from the Nation’s Capital. The Nats won the World Series last night with an upset win against the Houston Astros in Game 7. So you know I had to pull out this lid and show my city love. It already feels good rocking it, but today it’s an extra special look.
Okay, so the hat in the picture makes sense, but you may be wondering why there’s a lion ring eyeballing you on its visor. Well, I’m starting a section called Extras, featuring little things I wear that that make me feel good.
My family is from Cameroon in West Africa. The national soccer team is named The Indomitable Lions, so wearing this ring makes me feel closer to home-home.
Etsy is a really good place to find random trinkets like this. That’s where I found this small gem.
